Death of A Legend

The Godfather of Rap Gil Scott Heron passed away yesterday. The legendary poet, soul singer, and philosopher will be greatly missed. With hits like "Home is where the Hatred is", "New York is Killing me", and "It's your world", Gil will not only be missed but more importantly remembered for his ground breaking music. His message of Revolutionizing our minds into thinking outside the world's gates made those who listened to him understand what it means to rise above obstacles and overcome our troubles. Though I am young, I do understand the impact of this great human being, and I just hope that people remember that the Revolution will not be televised.
Instead you have to live it.

May-May-May-Maybach Music

The homie Stalley drops his first Maybach Music release today. It's produced by Rashad, who produced most of Lincoln Way Nights: ITM. All I can say is #dope. Fasten your seatbelts as we take off in "Chevys and Space Ships".

Old School Mondays:The Last Electro

So yesterday I came across this MadlibLp entitled "Miles Away". The project
was an infusion of new and old school
jazz. Madlib decided to go under a new
alias in which he created a band  called
'The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz &
Percussion Ensemble". It's something smooth
for all those who need to just unravel, and forget
about everything; just for a bit.

This is a Get To Know

So as you know I'm always up on
music updates on alot of blogs, one
in particular is Dame Dash's DD172
blog which informs people about artist
signed to Bluroc or associates of Bluroc.
Yesterday I was browsing and I came
across a new mixtape/ep by a new artist
named Corey Davis. The tape was entitled
"Corey".
Corey is from Atlanta, Georgia and is actually an aspiring artist(drawing)
who just happens to rap. He started out in hip hop
with a group called Mach Five. They have had sucess but
Corey has now decided to go solo and has released his debut solo
ep/mixtape "Corey".
The tape is a sensual and is an electronic master piece. Mixed
with Corey's fast pace rapping style, the tape
transforms into a trip downtown to see the
night life of an aspiring artist.

One of my favorite joints off THC gets the visual treatment. #Rrrriiiight

The Artist Formerly Known as Print....

Yes Chris Faust AKA Print finally decided to drop
his highly anticipated free lp entitled "FAUST".
I'm listening to it now and I feel like this is going
to be one of the most ground breaking lps to come
out in 2011. The live instrumentation, and the clever
word play by Chris makes this something special. So
download and make sure you give this a good listen.

Academy Reference

So the homie Hero turned me onto
Kenna's new ep which has a long title
so I wont bore you with it. But it's 3 dope
tracks with production from Chad Hugo.

The Album's name is WHAT!?!?!?!?!?

That's what Vada asked me when I first
told him about Blu's new lp entitled "Jesus lp".
And I can't lie, I can't even defend my man on this
one because that is a very left field title for an lp.
None the less he released it and it is some what
okay. Okay quality, and the same weird rapping style
that can only be explained as Blu. So ya here it is.....
Bueller.......

Dom gets the visual treatment for this joint of his latest offering The Original Dom Kennedy.

It's Willie!!!

Willie The Kid goes over Sunz of Man "Five Arch Angels". He digs into his inner Wu as he rips this beat apart. I guess it's in his blood, his brother LA The Darkman is a Wu-affiliate. Gun-Ryu!!!

Frank Ocean is the breath of fresh air or
the light with in the group.
He's got Kid Cudi creativity and the
voice of Chris Brown.
His debut lp "Nostalgia Ultra"

Curren$y-Full Metal (prod. by Alchemist)

Get To Know: A Jazz Hip Hop Fusion

As I was on Kevin Nottingham today
I stumbled upon this video by this artist
known as Versis. The Video is entitled
"Slow Down", which talks about him in a
meaningful relationship with a girl.

Versis "Slow Down" from JeromeD.com on Vimeo.

The video and song were dope. So then
I decdied to take a trip down the internet lane
and find his album.
I downloaded the Lp and was highly impressed.
Versis is a breath of hip hop fresh air.
He's got the old school beats with his
slow, but smooth electric flow.
He uses his life experience, specifically "Love"
to paint a canvas.
So check this out, you won't regret it....
"Illcandescent"

Y.E.$. (Yen Euro Dollars)
